I am a passionate street photographer from Switzerland. My journey into photography began in 2003 when I picked up my first HP digital camera, initially intending to document my travels and holidays. It was a simple, modest beginning, but even back then, I was drawn to the way a photograph could capture a moment in time, preserving both the scene and the emotions surrounding it.
Over the years, photography remained a casual hobby, accompanying me on trips and personal milestones. However, everything changed in 2017 with the upcoming birth of my first child. The thought of capturing meaningful and lasting memories of my growing family motivated me to invest more seriously in photography. I wanted to ensure that the images I took were not just snapshots but captured the essence of each moment. This led me to explore photography beyond the family context, sparking a new level of creativity and curiosity.
By 2018, my fascination with photography grew, leading me to explore architecture as a subject. I became captivated by the way buildings, structures, and forms interacted with light and shadow. Architecture photography allowed me to hone my eye for detail and composition, focusing on lines, patterns, and textures that tell a story of their own. The play of geometry, symmetry, and light intrigued me, offering a new perspective on the world around me.
It wasn’t long before my curiosity led me to street photography. I was drawn to the dynamic interactions of people within urban environments and how life unfolds in the streets, often unnoticed by passersby. This transition allowed me to combine my interest in architecture and human interaction, capturing both the structured environment and the fluid, unpredictable movements of people within it. Street photography became my way of telling stories—moments that are spontaneous, fleeting, yet deeply meaningful.
Since 2019, I have fully dedicated myself to street photography, immersing myself in the art of capturing authentic urban interactions. I strive to document the rhythm of city life—the way people move, interact, and exist within public spaces. Many of my photographs are captured in black and white, as this medium allows me to focus on the interplay of light, structure, and form without the distraction of color. Black and white photography emphasizes the raw essence of a scene, highlighting contrasts, shadows, and textures that might otherwise go unnoticed.
In recent years, however, I have increasingly incorporated color into my work. I have found that color adds an emotional dimension to my images, allowing me to highlight the vibrancy of life, the warmth of human connection, and the subtleties of mood and atmosphere. The use of color enables me to explore different aspects of storytelling, offering a broader range of expression while still maintaining the core elements of composition and structure that I value.
Today, I continue to evolve as a photographer, constantly seeking new ways to capture the essence of the streets and the people who inhabit them. Photography, for me, is not just about the technical aspects but about the emotions, stories, and experiences that each image conveys. It’s a journey of learning and discovery, and I am always excited about where the next photograph will take me.
